Ladji Camara passed away October 24th, 2004 in Senegal at the age of 81. Papa Ladji was undoubtedly one of the most respected and gifted percussionists ever to reach these shores from west Africa. In this live recording, Ladji and his group perform traditional and ritual dance pieces from his homeland and bring down the house with explosive, driving rhythms. A master drummer captured in a timeless performance of traditional west African music!
